Asalato is a percussion instrument also known as the "African Shaker" or "Kashaka". It consists of two small balls attached by a string. The player holds one ball in their hand and strikes it against the other ball, creating a rhythmic clicking sound. It is traditionally used in West African music and dance, as well as in modern genres like hip-hop and electronic dance music. This workshop will guide you how to make a asalato and the basic techniques how to play.
